Grilled Chicken Wings Recipe


Ingredients:

  • For the wings:
    • 2 pounds (about 900 g) of chicken wings, cleaned and cut
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • For the Moroccan spice mix:
    • 2 teaspoons paprika
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 teaspoon onion powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt (to taste)
    • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • For the sauce:
    • 1/4 cup honey
    • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
    • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
    • 1 teaspoon hot sauce (like Sriracha)
    • 1/4 cup water

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the marinade:
    • In a large bowl, mix all the Moroccan spice mix ingredients: paprika, turmeric, cumin, ginger, cinnamon, black pepper, cayenne, garlic, lemon juice, salt, and parsley. Stir well until everything is combined.
  2. Marinate the wings:
    • Place the chicken wings in the marinade, ensuring they are fully coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse. For more flavor, you can leave them in the refrigerator for up to 4 hours.
  3. Prepare the grill:
    • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. If using a charcoal grill, ensure the coals are glowing and covered with white ash for even heat.
  4. Grill the wings:
    • Place the marinated chicken wings on the grill and cook for 10-12 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and reach an internal temperature of at least 165°F (74°C). Turn the wings occasionally to prevent burning.
  5. Prepare the sauce:
    • While the wings are grilling, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, hot sauce, and water. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens slightly.
  6. Serve the wings:
    • Once the wings are grilled to perfection, remove them from the grill and place them in a large bowl. Pour the sauce over the wings and toss gently to coat all the wings in the delicious sauce.

Serve the grilled chicken wings hot, with a side of light salad or fresh bread.
